Deliverables: Two launch trailers for global release on PlayOverwatch

For Overwatch's Season 1: Conquest launch, Blizzard needed two recruitment trailers that could live as a pair — one for each side of the conflict. Rather than produce two variations of the same piece, the creative challenge was to make each trailer feel like it came from a genuinely different world: Talon's cold, commanding aesthetic versus Overwatch's heroic urgency. Same season, same story, two completely opposite tones.

The Creative Approach

The dual-faction concept drove every design decision. Talon's trailer leans into authority and menace — darker palette, harder type, a sense of inevitability. Overwatch's side answers with warmth, motion, and resolve. The range between the two pieces wasn't an accident; it was the whole point. Both had to feel like authentic in-universe propaganda for their respective factions, not just marketing assets.

Result

Both trailers released simultaneously on February 10, 2026 across Blizzard's global channels, framing the Season 1 launch narrative around player faction choice.
